Dear parents, Just thought we'd send you a few words to let you know what we've been doing since the AGM (if you would like a copy of the 2004/2005 yearly report please either see web site or speak to Raksha). It was nice to a have a reasonable representation of parents at the AGM, for those of you that are not aware Raksha was awarded her leader's warrant and Seal was presented with his 10 year service award. Congratulations to both.
June was a busy month, we were joined by 7 th Morden and the 36 th Mitcham for a brain testing board games evening, we held an excellent craft evening including tie dying, father's day cards, mosaics and hand painting. We also selected our team for sport's day and had an entertaining visit to Mitcham police station. Congratulations to James G. For winning the half yearly “Question of the Week” competition. The competition starts again from July.
July we celebrated American Independence Day by cooking burgers and hot dogs and making chocolate apples, honestly you will all get an American flag!!!!!!!!!! Cubs also tried line dancing. Sports day was a great success we came 3 rd place and so did the scouts, thanks to all that took part. Chil believes that we did so well was because the majority of the pack took part but we still had the situation of cubs being expected but not turning up and not phoning. We also had a joint evening with the 36 th Mitcham with 20 th Mitcham at the 36 th hut, but the water fight was great but the weather was against us, as was the battery in the hired mini bus, but the team pulled together and all the kids got to the water fight. Thanks go to the following Eagle and Mowgli for driving back and forth, to Mark C. for offering to drive the mini bus and to Julie O. for making the water bombs.
